Connect the Dots
Connect the Dots
Connect the Dots transforms live weather data into a kinetic composition of handcrafted Channapatna forms, bringing together contemporary technology and Indian craft in a singular suspended sculpture.

Technical Specifications
Each suspended element moves independently through a precisely engineered kinetic system, translating real-time weather data into an ever-changing choreography. Wind speed and direction generate sweeping planar waves, temperature produces rising conical formations, and precipitation introduces fields of Perlin-noise turbulence. Together, these data streams create a sculptural surface that is both atmospheric and dynamic, yet always composed.
Rather than following a fixed animation loop, Connect the Dots remains live to its environment, continuously responding to changing conditions. The result is a kinetic installation that brings together computational intelligence, silent mechanical precision, and the tactile richness of handcrafted form.
A typical installation is designed for continuous public operation, with smooth, low-noise motion suitable for premium architectural and institutional environments.

Ideal Applications
Connect the Dots is designed for spaces that value both technological sophistication and cultural materiality. It is particularly suited to corporate headquarters, innovation centers, hospital atriums, research institutions, museums, and educational environments where a signature installation can communicate openness, intelligence, and care.
The work is especially effective in large-volume interiors, where its vertical movement can be experienced from multiple vantage points. By occupying the air rather than the floor, the sculpture preserves openness at ground level while creating a strong visual anchor within the architecture.
Its fusion of live data, kinetic motion, and handcrafted detail makes it well suited to clients seeking a statement piece that is contemporary, site-sensitive, and distinctly rooted in Indian making traditions.
Materials & Engineering
The installation features custom wooden forms developed in collaboration with artisans from Channapatna, drawing on the Karnataka's celebrated toy-making tradition and its distinct language of turned wood and lacquered finish. These handcrafted elements are integrated into a contemporary kinetic system, allowing traditional craft to enter into dialogue with computation, motion, and environmental data.
Structural and suspension components are fabricated for precision, durability, and long-term operation in climate-controlled interior environments. The overall system is engineered to deliver stable performance, clean movement, and a visually seamless finish appropriate for premium public and private spaces.
Finish, palette, object scale, spacing, and overall configuration can be customized to align with the architectural character of the site. This allows the installation to respond to interior palettes, branding requirements, and viewing distances while retaining its central identity as a meeting point between craft, technology, and atmosphere.
Project Realisation
Every project begins with a careful reading of the space—its proportions, structure, technical requirements, and viewing experience. The installation is then developed in close dialogue with your team, ensuring that movement, material finish, and overall presence are fully aligned with the architecture. Depending on scope and customization, timelines vary, with end-to-end support across concept refinement, technical documentation, fabrication, and installation.
